Since it's inception in 1976, ITW Drawform has developed a reputation for
being a high volume producer of tightly toleranced, deep drawn metal stampings
for customers located around the world.
ITW Drawform supplies the automotive, door lock hardware, plumbing,
communications, and fire protection industries from our new 200,000-sq. ft.
state of the art facility located in Zeeland, Michigan. With a complete in-house
tool design, engineering staff, and tool-room, Drawform is capable of building
over 95% of all necessary production tooling. An extensive and expanding
prototype area allows for quick turn around production intent samples.
Production capabilities include ICOP, Die-set Transfer and Progressive Die
presses with a range from 60 to 500 ton. These presses can form material from
0.010" (0.254mm) up to 0.150" (3.81mm) thick. Extensive experience
exists in 300/400 Series Stainless Steel, 1008/1010 Cold Rolled Steel, Aluminum,
Copper, Brass, as well as specialty materials such as HSLA (high strength low
alloy) and Galfan. The parts supplied range in depth from ½" (12.7mm) to
10" (254mm).
An in-house metallurgy lab supports the Research and Development efforts, as
well as the production area. Metallurgical testing includes, mechanical,
destructive and corrosion testing.
On-site secondary operations include, aqueous cleaning in both barrel and
ultra-sonic type systems, vibratory deburring, staking and weld assembly.
Through outside secondary sources, plating, painting, Electro-polishing and
other services are available.
Dedicated to continuous improvement in engineering, manufacturing and
processes, ITW Drawform continues to invest heavily in the latest technologies
available. The extensive utilization of "Cell" manufacturing exists
for higher volume programs, where the processing from raw material through final
packaging is performed in-line to eliminate waste. This process is served well
by a "Shop Floor Team" oriented structure. A four-year apprenticeship
program is maintained for the technical staff in the disciplines of Transfer
Press Toolmaker as well as Tool-room Toolmakers. Other continuous training
programs include Die-setter, Tool-room Machinist, and Certified Operator.
ITW Drawform's vision is to be the best provider of complex metal parts using
unique concepts in deep draw technology. This includes doing whatever it takes
to help our customers design cost-effective new components as well as the
re-design of existing ones, slashing costs along the way.
